Because of its strategic position it is one of the most famous and favorite destinations of tourists both national and International. Cancun International Airport is considered the second most important airport in the Mexican airport network and the first one of tourist visitors.
The airport has two runways with asphalt pavement, and 3 terminals that allow the arrival of millions of visitors each year.
The major activity of Cancun International Airport is the passenger traffic, but also the handling of a high volume of cargo. In 2011 approximately 25 tons of cargo were shipped, making it the fourth busiest airport in this category.
Because of its facilities and infrastructure in general, it is considered the best, or one of the best airports in Latin America and the Caribbean.
